Solar Plants

"Turn your face towards the sun,
and the shadows will fall behind you."
(Maori proverb)

The use of solar energy is as old as humanity itself. Solar cells started their triumph in the United States in 1954, yet for a long time, this form of energy generation was overshadowed by more efficient and more cost-effective methods like hydroelectric, wind and nuclear power. With the growing importance of renewable energy sources and the development of the increasingly efficient solar cells we use today, solar power has experienced an upswing that has been especially strong in the last few years.

Depending on size and location, the requirements for feeding power into local and national grids can differ.
